There is so much to see and do in Florida—it can be hard to pick what to experience! Don’t get overwhelmed by the options in your travel brochures. For the best of the best, try a few of these great destinations.
1 Disney World Orlando
Disney World is one of Florida’s most popular vacation destinations—and for good reason. The Magic Kingdom is full of fun for all ages, including rides, food, and meeting your favorite Disney characters. Besides the Magic Kingdom, there are three other Disney resorts in Orlando—don’t miss out on a single one!
Everglades National Park is a fantastic way to get out and see natural Florida. Whether you want to hike, boat, or just relax in the wilderness, the Everglades is for you. My favorite activity? A swamp boat tour.
3 Universal Studios
This is Disney World’s fraternal twin. After a long day of exciting rides like Minion Mayhem, grab a Bart Simpson sized doughnut to finish up a sweet day.
4 Kennedy Space Center
If you’re into stars and astronauts (and who isn’t?), you’ll love a trip to this institution. You can take one of several tours, see actual spacecraft on display, and learn about astronautics and the universe. You can even have lunch and conversation with a real, live astronaut! This is a great activity for the whole family.
5 Daytona Beach
For all racecar fans, February’s Daytona 500 race is the place to be. Other times of the year, concerts, waterparks, and beach bumming attract thousands.
6 Fort Jefferson
Head to Key West for a tour of this historical structure. It dates back to around 1850, when it was built to protect Florida’s waters from attackers. Later, it served as a prison and a coaling station. Today, it is a beautiful place to observe peaceful waters and learn about U.S. history.
7 Florida Keys
It’s hard to sum up the Florida Keys in just a few sentences. There’s so much to see and do on this string of islands, from museums to beaches to funky art galleries. Just driving the Seven-Mile Bridge that connects the keys is a grand adventure.
Gatorland is THE place to see Florida alligators up close. Check out a variety of shows and experiences ranging from docile to downright scary! Of course, you’re safe the whole time.
Florida is full of gorgeous beaches. Spending an afternoon at one is an absolute must. Pack a picnic or grab a fro yo and head down to the shore.
Every kid’s dream is a giant world built of Legos. Make it happen and Legoland and inspire your future engineer to scale new heights. Who know colorful plastic squares could be so awesome?
11 Discovery Cove
Take an undersea walking tour, swim with reef fish, or even become a dolphin trainer for a day. Discovery cove is a fun place for families to learn about and interact with Florida’s vibrant marine life.
12 Seaworld Orlando
Seaworld is a classic. Learn about the creatures of the ocean while enjoying amusement park rides. Be brave and try the Splash Zone at the Shamu show!
13 Harry Potter World
Enter the magical world of Hogwarts! Which house do you belong to? Enjoy wizardly wild rides and bewitchingly fun activities.
14 Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens
One of the best zoos in the United States is located in Orlando. Learn about the animals of the world, as well as those specific to the Florida region, when you experience a fun-filled day at the Central Florida Zoo. Be sure to pay attention to the plants at the botanical gardens, as well.
15 Blue Spring State Park
No visit to Florida is complete without seeing manatees. Take a walk through the green foliage to the water’s edge, where gentle sea cows graze on the plants below.
