10 Most Expensive Airbnb Rentals in New York City

When you think of travel to New York City, what comes to mind? Broadway? Good food? The Statue of Liberty? Money? Pretty much everyone who travels to New York City does have money on their mind. After all, New York City is expensive! Just how expensive it can be might blow your mind. Ready to be shocked? Read on to find out the most expensive Airbnb listings in New York City!

1    Cute Apartment in NYC for $10,000

This is another one of those strangely undescriptive Airbnb listings. The listing only has one photo! The photo is a nice one, and it does show the beautifully rich décor of the place. If you like luxurious, professionally-decorated spaces, this will certainly appeal to you! However, one photo isn’t enough to go on if you’re going to spend a hefty sum on a vacation stay. This apartment is listed at $10,000! The listing does say that the minimum stay is 16 nights, so maybe this was intended to cover the whole rental period. I hope so, because $160,000 for travel accommodations is a lot, no matter what your budget is!

2    Astoria Apartment for $10,000

If you rent this expensive NYC room, you will get one room in a two bedroom apartment. The room comes with a twin bed, dresser, night stand, and bookcase. It may not be much on the inside, but it’s close to many attractions in the city! You can take a quick two-minute walk to Blvd NQ, and you’ll only be 25 minutes from Grand Central Station and Times Square. The room includes linens and towels, so you won’t have to pack your own. In addition to the room, you’ll also have access to the rest to the apartment, including the living space, kitchen, and bathroom. The only question that remains is why this bedroom is so very expensive. Ten thousand dollars for one room? Really? This looks like it might be a listing that the host had trouble deleting, so she just raised the price massively to discourage renters. Be discouraged, friends. Be very discouraged.

3    Spanish Harlem Apartment for $9999

Is there no end to the overpriced listings for New York City? Seriously, this is getting sort of ridiculous. This apartment listing is yet another overpriced rental in New York City. Maybe I’m just out of touch and two bedroom apartments really do go for ten grand a night, but I somehow doubt it. This apartment has a nice location, though, I will give it that. It’s only a quick jaunt away from the 6 train, and it gives you easy access to Central Park, the East River Promenade, and Randall’s Island.

4    Great Location Apartment for $9,998

This is another one of those overpriced listings that don’t seem quite right. This apartment is in a good location, but it can only accommodate one, and the photos look like the owner put no effort into cleaning up before snapping photos. If the house is messy in the pictures, how can you expect it to be vacation-ready when you stay? Maybe the location is great, but this listing is not. The rental price of ten thousand dollars per night definitely looks like an attempt at blocking anyone from actually renting the place out. Let’s not waste any more time on this one!

5    Luxury Townhouse Greenwich Village for $6000

At 2400 square feet, this townhouse is a pretty big size for New York City! And for $6000 per night, it can be yours. The townhouse has three floors, so you will have plenty of space to hang out in between excursions into New York City. You can fit six people in the house’s four bedrooms, so bring your whole family. The townhouse is located in Greenwich Village, so you’ll be close to everything you want to see in the area. Go check out Washington Square Park, Children’s Museum of the Arts, SoHo, and more! You can feel safe in this house, since the street is gated and locked between 11 pm and 7 am. The home comes fully stoked, with linen, art, music, books, and more. There’s even Wi-Fi. In addition to the high price, there is one drawback, however: you can’t book the townhouse for less than three weeks at a time. Do the math! That is a very high cost for an extended stay.

This expensive New York Airbnb rental is perfect for special events! The Northern Lights Mansion is a stunning masterpiece of architecture and design. It was originally built in 1880, and has since been beautified and restored. The entire place is lovely, and it’s perfect for a wedding reception or party! The house can fit 75 guests, and it can accommodate 14 of those overnight. There are 6 bedrooms and 6 and a half bathrooms, so there is more than enough space. Besides this, the host has many connections in the city and can help you find caterers, photographers, and more for your perfect event. The house is not only great for large groups, but it is also in a good location. You can walk to many major train stations, which will give you access to New York’s best attractions.

Honestly, I’ll tell you, Cute Apartment in NYC is not the place I can rent right now per night. I thought it’s so expensive, something must be there. There are no reviews yet on Airbnb. Maybe it’s selling offline for now. Luxury Condo looks very good. Keep up the great work!

I’m very surprised by the number of ridiculously priced listings! One would think than an apartment, or even a bedroom in an apartment, would be more reasonable than that. I can understand renting out a penthouse suite for quite a sum, especially in some of the more luxurious hotels in the area, but that’s just ridiculous! I do think the townhouse in Greenwich Village is absolutely adorable, though! It’s out of my budget, for sure, it’s certainly quaint and cozy for an extended stay. The…
