Every little girl learns about love and weddings from Disney. After all, some of the first weddings we attend are those of Ariel and Eric, Stephen and Aurora, or Cinderella and Prince Charming. But the magic of Disney romance doesn’t have to stay on your screen! You can make your own Disney fairy tale through a Disney destination wedding. Here are Disney’s romantic wedding destinations!
Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World offers the most classic Disney wedding packages. If you want Mickey Mouse and Belle to attend your reception, this is the place to tie the knot.
One of the most popular venues is Disney’s Wedding Pavilion. This is a lovely chapel with soaring Victorian architecture and a romantic white interior. The window behind the altar looks out on the silhouette of Cinderella’s castle, and the entrance is preceded by a fairy tale footbridge.
This venue includes many charming options. You can arrive in Cinderella’s coach or request a rose petal canon to spray flowers into the air when you are declared husband and wife!
Reception venues At Walt Disney World include Disney’s Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Yacht Club, Disney’s Beach Club, or even the ballroom of Cinderella’s Castle in the Magic Kingdom! You can invite Disney characters to your reception, and you can have a themed wedding, like “Beauty and the Beast.”
Your honeymoon options include Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, Disney’s Polynesian Resort, and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. How will you ever pick just one?
A wedding at Disneyland is no less romantic than a wedding at Disney World! Here, you can actually get married in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle.
You can only do this on weekday evenings during off-season hours, but the weird timing is definitely worth it. This wedding includes a fanfare entrance, a pre-reception in front of the King Arthur Carousel in the Castle Courtyard, plus a lunch reception at the Disneyland Resort Hotel or a dinner reception at Small World Mall. Enjoy the whimsy of the Small World ride as the background to your reception!
If you don’t want to get married in the park, you can also have your wedding at the Rose Court Garden at the Disneyland Hotel. You’ll say “I do” under a white gazebo surrounded by roses! The bride can arrive in the Cinderella Coach, complete with footmen. If you like, you can also opt for the Magic Kingdom Lawn for weddings of up to 300 guests.
Grand Californian Hotel also has many wedding and reception options. The Parkview Terrace on the top floor of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa at Parkview Terrace offers nuptials under a trellis with wonderful views of the mountains and the city.
You can also choose to wed in the Wedding Garden at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel. This is a smaller venue that can accommodate up to 80 people. It is intimate and lovely, with a 1920s California Craftsman style, complete with a blazing fire.
Or, opt for the Brisa Courtyard, which can hold 100 guests. This location is ideal for a ceremony or a reception. This area is surrounded by greenery and picturesque staircases, which are perfect for photography.
For a beautiful indoor venue at Grand Californian, choose between the 500-person Sequoia Ballroom of the 120-guest Trillium Room and Terrace.
If you want a beachy feel, book your reception at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel. You can invite 400 guests to join you and your loved one in the Pacific Ballroom for a Disney-inspired Californian reception.
For luxury and class, host your reception at one of the Disneyland Hotel Ballrooms! These are ideal for small or large parties, since they can accommodate from 60 to a thousand guests. Choose between the Grand Ballroom, the Magic Kingdom Ballroom, or the small and intimate Mark Twain Room. If you want extra luxury and magic, go with the Sleeping Beauty Pavilion.
If you’re more into the bright and colorful side of Disney, a fun reception venue is the Disney Animation Building! You can host your party in the colorful and energetic atmosphere of a private sound stage decorated with projection panels.
Love Disney’s California Adventure Park? You’re in luck! You can have your wedding at Stage 17 in the park. Choose your theme and create an incredible ceremony or reception with the help of Disney planners! The venue offers lighting effects, DJ’d music, a dance floor, and so much more! You can even add a ride or attraction to your event. Imagine how thrilled your guests will be to get a chance to ride the Tower of Terror after the ceremony! With this package, you also get a honeymoon night at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels.
There are also several options for Disney cruise weddings! Get married on the ship and have a reception there (Just like Prince Eric and Ariel!) before heading off on your three-night to week-long honeymoon cruise. You can choose to get married on one of four Disney cruise ships, or even hold the reception on Disney’s Castaway Cay. If you missed out on the fairytale ceremony the first time, Disney cruises are also quite popular for vow renewals.
Disney Cruise wedding packages offer most services you need to celebrate your special day. Flowers, photographer, hair salon…even an officiant! You can bring your own service providers, but you have to pay for a cruise booking for them.
Disney’s incredible Hawaiian resort is a beautiful place to host a seaside wedding! Make the Pacific Ocean your backdrop when you get married here. There are several onsite venues you can choose from.
Get married on the beach, say “I do” in a lush tropical garden, or tie the knot above a beautiful reef. These are just a few of the many wedding spaces you can enjoy at Aulani! You can go full Hawaiian with leis, traditional entertainment, and island-inspired cuisine or choose a small, intimate affair.
Whether you love the classic romance of Sleeping Beauty or the fun and color of Pixar animation, you’ll be able to find something to fit your Disney wedding style! Throwing a wedding Disney-style is a dream come true. With so many options, you can’t go wrong! What does your ideal Disney wedding look like?
