A Frightfully Delightful Night at Disneyland
Mickey’s Halloween party may already be sold out for 2017, but there is still plenty of spooky fun you can have at Disneyland this October! On certain October nights, you can attend the Frightfully Fun Parade as it slithers, slides, and clomps down Main Street, U.S.A. The parade is led by the Ride of the Headless Horseman and it populated with Disney characters in costume! Be sure to stick around for the October 31st Halloween Screams fireworks show and the trick-or-treating fun in the park.
Knott’s Scary Farm
The cheery atmosphere at Knott’s Berry Farm will be wickedly transformed into something out of your deepest, darkest nightmares this Halloween. Behold, Knott’s Scary Farm! From September 21 to October 31, you can enter a world of Halloween horror. The park will be filled with fog and creepy lighting, and around every corner you’ll be frightened by some new and terrible creature from beyond the grave. This is not for kids. It includes a horrible ghost town, a carnEvil, and awful monsters that will make your heart leap into your throat. Does that sound like your kind of night? Lucky you—tickets are only $40!
Fright Fest at Six Flags Chicago
It’s freaky, gory, and frightening. In other words, it’s the essence of Halloween! Freak yourself out at six flags this year when you visit the park during nights between September 16 and October 31. You can get freaked out at the haunted houses and scare zones, and you’ll probably be chased by something out of your most terrifying nightmares. The park is filled with terrible horrors—Henchmen Alley, Massacre Ball, the Underworld, and more. There’s nowhere to escape!
Brick or Treat at LEGOLAND
If you want to take your kids to a fun, goofy Halloween event where the scariest thrill is a regular ol’ roller coaster, then LEGOLAND is your best bet! This event comes with park admission, making October the best month to visit this theme park. Meet Frankenstein, Vampyre, and more—in life-sized LEGO minifigure form, of course. Your kids can come in full costume to dance with LEGO characters at the Groovin’ Graveyard, or sing along with the Jammin’ Jack-O-Lanterns! There will be treat-or-treating, too, and a Halloween scavenger hunt. This is material for the ultimate childhood Halloween memories!
Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios
Although you can get a small taste of Halloweeny fun at any time of year with a trip to Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the park ramps up the magic in October with some serious Halloween hauntings. Halloween Horror Nights is one of the longest Halloween theme park events in the country! It runs from September 15 to November 14, so you have plenty of nights to visit and get creeped out. Each haunted house is inspired by a different Universal Studios film, from The Shining to American Horror Story. Escape from the killing fields, try to survive through The Fallen, and don’t get eaten in the Hive!
In addition to the haunted houses, there are also many scare zones to explore. Trick ‘r Treat is nothing like your childhood fun. Instead, this twisted version of the traditional American Halloween will keep you up all night. And don’t even get us started on the terrifying Altars of Horror! Don’t forget to check out a show while you’re there—you can see Bill & Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure or the Academy of Villains Afterlife. This event is for teens and up!
Halloween Spooktacular at SeaWorld
Both the San Diego and the Orlando SeaWorld amusement parks are hosting a fun, family-friendly Halloween bash! The event runs every weekend from September 23 to October 29. Even better, the fun is included with the price of admission! This is a great choice for silly fun with your little ones. You’ll get to meet your favorite Sesame Street characters, plus enjoy fun activities for all ages! If you’re concerned about safety for your trick-or-treaters, you’ll be feel at ease taking your kids to collect candy at SeaWorld. Of course, the kids will love the fun, special touches and magic memories! You can also party with princesses and wizards at Penelope’s Garden Party, where you’ll enjoy bubbles, crafts, and costumed characters. Don’t forget about the Halloween Dance Party or Count Von Count’s
HalloWeekends at Cedar Point
Cedar Point has it all when it comes to Halloween! Daytime offers classic childhood fun, while nighttime brings the gore and grime for adults with an adrenaline addiction. The Peanuts-inspired Great Pumpkin Fest will happen every weekend during daylight hours from September 16 to October 29, so get your kiddos costumed up and head over for this fun event! You’ll find mildly spooky haunted houses and Peanuts themed fun from Peppermint Patty’s Hay Bale Maze to the foam-filled Linus’ Mummy Pit. Finish the day with the Great Pumpkin Parade!
