The UFO Hotel in Baker, California
Although this hotel hasn’t been opened yet, it is in the works! This place promises to be the coolest UFO hotel on earth. The hotel will be architecturally based on an alien spaceship that was reported to have landed in Baker California. Witnesses described the ship in detail, and an artist drew precisely what apparently flew in from the heavens. This sketch has become the blueprint for an awesome flying saucer hotel!
You may have missed out on being abducted onto an alien spacecraft in Baker, but now you can check yourself into something almost as cool. You’ll feel like you’ve left the earth when you step into this other-worldly building! Fortunately, though, you’ll still get to enjoy terrestrial fun in the building, from entertainment to dining and shopping.
Solent Forts, UK
This strange collection of hotels wasn’t intended to look like a gathering of UFOs, but that’s exactly what it appears to be. The hotels are made up of three circular offshore forts that have been remodeled to become incredible accommodations! Find yourself in the middle of the sea on a tiny man-made “island!” You’ll feel like you’re on an alien spacecraft that has just crashed into the ocean.
You can choose between the luxury, five-star Spit Bank Fort Hotel, four-star No Man’s Fort, or the undeveloped, museum-like Horse Sand Fort. Which sounds the coolest to you?
UFO Treehouse Hotel, Sweden
As far as creative hotels go, this one really takes the cake. Drive through a perfectly ordinary forest down a perfectly ordinary road, and you’ll find yourself at a hotel that’s anything but ordinary! This hotel is a cross between a treehouse and a flying saucer. It appears to be floating in mid-air between the trees, and you have to climb up a long flight of stairs to enter the UFO from the bottom.
Crawl inside, and you’ll find yourself in the most convincing UFO around! Although it looks bizarre, the interior of this flying saucer is actually very comfortable. You can fit two adults and three children here! Enjoy beautiful natural views and a modern yet unique hotel stay.
Kameha Grand Zurich Hotel, Switzerland
This super-luxury hotel is not exactly alien themed, but it is space themed and feels like it could have been designed by an advanced life form! You’ll get to stay in uber-modern digs when you book a night at this hotel, including a galactic-looking furniture set and space-themed décor. This isn’t a cheap getaway, though—it costs upwards of $1600 per night! Start saving your pennies, because this is as close as you can get to being abducted.
Pengheng Space Capsules Hotel
This fantastic Chinese hotel will give you a realistic space experience! You’ll feel like a real astronaut—or alien abductee—when you enter this futuristic building.
The interior of the hotel is designed to look like a spacecraft, down to the smallest detail. The beds are literally segmented capsules, just like the sleeping quarters in Interstellar. The bathrooms feature neat lines of identical, modern sinks, and even the lobby chairs look like something from another world. Space-like lighting and chrome accents add a UFO feel to the entire place!
UFO Capsule Hotel, Kuala Lumpur
This hotel is somewhat similar to the Pendheng Space Capsules Hotel, but it’s not quite as flashy. This is fitting, however, since it designed to look like you’ve actually been abducted, and it’s doubtful that aliens would keep their earthling specimens in overly-luxurious quarters!
Despite offering the feeling of being abducted, this hotel features very comfortable and fun quarters. Your “room” is a cell-like capsule with a bed and space to stash your stuff. There’s isn’t a lot of room, but that’s part of the experience! Besides, for a few dollars a night, you couldn’t find a more interesting place in the vicinity of the Petronas Towers.
Sunset Inn and Suites, Illinois
This Clinton, Illinois hotel offers several themed suites, including the very popular Space Odyssey Suite. This hotel room is beyond fantastic! It looks just like you’re imprisoned in an alien spacecraft—in the most posh way possible, of course. A specially shaped bed, interesting lighting, and star-studded ceiling add to the space feel of the place.
The Sanzhi UFO Houses
Although these tourist rental homes were never actually opened, they still belong on our list of cool UFO hotels. Although you couldn’t stay in them (unless you didn’t mind being a squatter), you could once still go see them and snap a few photos.
These structures were built near New Taipei City, Taiwan and were intended to tap into the UFO-loving tourist market and US soldiers leaving their former posts. The houses really did look like pink and yellow UFOs, and they would probably have been awesome to stay in if they had opened!
Unfortunately, a strange series of car accidents, suicides, and money losses deterred the completion and opening of the pods. A few years ago, they were finally demolished.
Which UFO hotel sounds the coolest to you? I’m partial to the treehouse UFO in Sweden, and it’s been on my bucket list for a long time! Would you like to spend a night there?
